Meanwhile, Toni tells Todd they should skip gifts due to financial constraints but then reveals her splurge on $2800 boots. Todd feels hurt when Toni buys a present for Joan, prompting her to make amends. Elsewhere, William struggles to connect with Donna at the bus stop, but his attempt to send Lynn as an intermediary only scares her away.
