Following the revelation of mutant existence to the world, both the X-Men and the Brotherhood face the chaos that ensues. In a shocking turn of events, Mystique disguises herself as Professor X and detonates the Institute. Some members from both factions are taken prisoner, leaving those who managed to flee to embark on a mission to rescue their captured allies and find the Professor.
