Brian discovers the library card belonging to Dr. Richard Symes, a victim of an unsolved case, prompting him to reopen the investigation into the professor's death, which occurred three years ago when he fell from the college roof. Meanwhile, Sandra and Gerry speak with Symes' widow, who is convinced that principal Jeremy Ventham pushed her husband to take his own life due to a disagreement over his teaching style.
