Ten-year-old Josh has accidentally amputated his finger during school hours when stonemason Guido accidentally drops a heavy piece of marble on his hand. Meanwhile, 74-year-old Maggie, who has limited vision, is brought to the hospital by her neighbor after she suffers an ankle fracture from a fall.
