When a planet-sized object sends a message to Earth, Bach instructs Dr. Carl Sagan to decipher it while strategically withholding this information from Majestic's directors. Unaware of the situation, Albano decides to interrogate the captured Gray to uncover more about the transmission. Meanwhile, Loengard and Juliet enlist Dr. Timothy Leary's help to locate the San Francisco lab where Steele and Kim are manufacturing a hallucinogenic drug for the Hive. In a tense moment, Kim throws the drug at John's face, triggering a vision of their son aboard a Hive vessel.
