Episode Overview

Prime Minister Thorbjörn receives a visit from Soviet Ambassador Aleksandra Kosygina in his office. They learn that their scheme to set up a radio mast on the submarine has been thwarted by the Commander-in-Chief, who had the same idea. Meanwhile, in the Kremlin, a frail Leonid Brezhnev struggles with the escalating crisis but finds unexpected support from Yuri Andropov, the Fourth Chairman of the KGB. However, Andropov’s intentions are questionable. On the submarine, Ambassador Kosygina joins Commander Anders Karlsson and encounters the unpredictable Captain, soon realizing there might be an alternative solution to their dilemma.
