After losing his job, J.J. does everything he can to secure new employment. However, when Bookman delivers an eviction notice to the Evans family because of overdue rent, J.J. chooses to accept a job from some dubious acquaintances. At the same time, Thelma considers leaving college to take a full-time position to support her family financially.
