Cindy makes a surprise visit to Brandon for Christmas, as her relationship with Jim is in turmoil, leaving her uncertain about heading back to Hong Kong. Brandon is heartbroken, fearing his family is unraveling. A thoughtful Christmas gift from Jim reassures Cindy of his affection, prompting her to go back home. Meanwhile, Colin starts using cocaine again, infuriating Kelly, who thought he had quit for good. Steve delivers Christmas gifts to his boss's mistress and her young niece but gets fired when the wrong presents are received, revealing the affair to his boss's wife. Although the mix-up was not his fault, Rush blames Steve, leading to a heated exchange where Steve expresses that their father-son bond is not genuine. Later, when Steve attempts to apologize, Rush drops a bombshell: he is actually Steve's biological father.
