When Josh is unable to attend the campus debates due to car issues, Brandon steps in and delivers an impressive speech that propels their campaign forward. However, Alex Diaz, a rival student senator, tries to sabotage them by threatening to reveal an article where Josh accused Brandon of helping D'Shawn cheat on tests. Meanwhile, Andrea worries that Brandon may not value her insights anymore, but her guidance turns out to be essential. D'Shawn stands up for Brandon at a senate meeting. As they wait for election results at the Peach Pit, a jittery Josh takes a drive and tragically crashes into a delivery truck, leaving Brandon horrified. Kelly informs Brandon of their victory, while Valerie seeks information about Dylan and starts frequenting the pool hall. After a night with Val, Dylan is shocked to discover she lives with the Walshes.
