On Vulcana Island, the inhabitants have long been cut off from the outside world. However, Dr. X gains their confidence by preventing a disastrous volcanic eruption, simultaneously tarnishing the reputations of the Action Team and the World Security Council. In a live-action mission titled "Operation Freebird," the team must break out of prison and deactivate an alarm in Vienna, Austria, with support from their teammate, Action 4 (Jacques), via radio. At the conclusion of the episode, Action Man shares an important lesson about the significance of rainforests.
