Paul and Cate hesitate but eventually agree to host dinner for their awkward neighbors, Fred and Mary Ellen Doyle, along with their children. To their surprise, the entire Hennessy family is unexpectedly invited to attend the wedding of the Doyles' daughter. Meanwhile, Kerry fails to tell Bridget that the once-nerdy Donny Doyle has transformed into a handsome young man.
