Rob believes that Rick Vallone isn’t the best match for Sally, so he attempts to get Rick drunk, knowing that Sally despises heavy drinkers. He also encourages Rick to develop feelings for Laura. However, Laura consistently outsmarts Rob, leading him to understand that love is far too complicated to manipulate.
