Blake is stunned by newspaper headlines announcing Ben’s acquisition of the South China Sea leases. Convinced of a conspiracy between Ben and Alexis, he confronts them with copies of “Sister Dearest,” handing them out to the eager press. Claudia tells Blake that during his illness, he gave Adam power of attorney, allowing her to take over the Lankershim One oil well. Disturbed to find it nearly dry, Claudia slips into a dreamlike trance. Locking herself in a candlelit room, she accidentally starts a fire. At Dominique’s engagement party, Sammy Jo and Amanda fight over Clay. Their vicious struggle sends both into the pool, where Amanda holds Sammy Jo underwater. Dominique’s joy crumbles when she learns Garrett was never married. After manipulating Ben into giving her half the leases, Alexis plots her ultimate revenge: she calls in her one billion dollar loan, leaving Blake financially paralyzed.
