Meanwhile, Mrs. Fjeldsø makes one last effort to find a suitable partner for her son, Adam. Weyse gives up on his relentless pursuit of Mrs. Aurland and discovers insights into women's behavior. Merchant Madsen sees through Count Ditmar’s facade, yet still dreams of him marrying his daughter. Just when everything seems perfect, a figure from Ditmar's past arrives at the hotel, threatening to reveal secrets that could shatter his reputation.
