When a parking attendant's curiosity results in the grim find of a woman's body in a car trunk, Hooker and his team leap into action to track down a deranged killer on a nationwide rampage. At the same time, the disturbed murderer captures a young woman, abandoning her husband and their ill child. Hooker convinces the lead detective to allow him to set a trap in hopes of rescuing the hostage, but this risky plan puts Stacy's life on the line...
