Following a disappointing defeat at Regionals, the glee club finds themselves as the underdogs at McKinley High. With impending budget cuts looming over the school, Mr. Schuester encourages the students to work on bringing in fresh talent for the group. However, Rachel and Finn clash over potential recruits, leading to uncertainty about whether they can unite and find a way to sing in perfect harmony again.
