When Shawn Hopkins goes missing one night after visiting the arcade, his parents quickly grow concerned that the search team isn't doing enough to locate their son. Their worries deepen when they discover that Shawn has been involved in gambling and has been spotted with a known local drug dealer. However, their anxiety shifts when they find out that Shawn was advocating for a friend who had been raped. While relieved to learn he wasn't engaging in illegal activities, Larry and Susan Hopkins remain anxious about their son's safe return.
