When Lois Romney's body is discovered in a hotel room, detectives Goren and Eames connect her to Dale Van Acker, a drug addict and the son of affluent socialite Priscilla Van Acker. Priscilla vehemently disapproved of Dale's pregnant fiancée, prompting Goren and Eames to consider whether she might have had motives to eliminate the young woman for good.
