Nick and Schanke track down a fugitive convicted of murder who has escaped from Texas law enforcement after receiving an anonymous tip that directs them to a car rental service. Nick suspects she might actually be innocent, but he faces a race against time to gather evidence and clear her name before she is extradited and faces the death penalty for her alleged crime.
