Overview

Set in 14th-century England, King Edward II’s affection for Piers Gaveston, a man of modest birth, leads him to bestow wealth and titles upon his beloved. This favoritism stirs resentment, particularly in the icy Queen Isabella, who, fueled by jealousy, allies with the sinister Mortimer. Together, they plot to eliminate Gaveston, usurp Edward’s throne, and seize control for themselves, igniting a tragic power struggle that threatens the kingdom's stability and Edward's reign.
