Overview

Set against the backdrop of early 11th century China, Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty turns a blind eye to state matters, indulging in personal excess while corruption festers and war looms at the borders. As the rival Western Xia forces invade, Yang Zongbao, the last surviving member of the storied Yang clan, meets a tragic fate in battle, abandoned by the deceitful Imperial Tutor Pang. With her husband gone, Mu Guiying courageously rallies the widows of the Yang clan, stepping into the fray to uphold their legacy and defend the dynasty against its enemies.
