The Runaway

Overview

At the birth of two boys—a white child and a black child—a mystical Conjure Woman (Maya Angelou) foretells their pivotal role in ushering in change. Growing up as inseparable friends in 1940s rural Georgia, they stumble upon a revelation that prompts Sheriff Frank Richards (Dean Cain) to revisit the unsolved murders of three black men. Despite community resistance to uncovering the truth, the sheriff is unwavering in his quest for justice.
