Overview

Oscar François de Jarjayes defies convention, raised as a boy by her father who longed for a son. As captain of the royal guards at Versailles, she serves King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, enjoying a life of privilege. However, her sheltered existence shatters when she confronts the harsh realities faced by the impoverished citizens of France.
