In a future where rising seas have submerged much of civilization, Ikaruga Natsuki returns to his flooded childhood home after losing both his mother and a leg in an accident. Alone and burdened by his grandmother's debts, he discovers a ship and submarine she left behind. His only chance to reclaim his lost dreams lies with the enigmatic debt collector, Catherine, who offers him a deal. Together, they embark on a quest to uncover treasures in the ruins of his grandmother's underwater lab. Instead of riches, they unearth Atri, a remarkable robot that resembles a human, brimming with emotions.
