The series gained traction in Canada on YTV and in Japan through NHK, becoming a beloved fixture in children's programming on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation during the mid-to-late '90s. Produced by Thomas and John Lynch, alongside RHI Entertainment, Hallmark Entertainment, and Nickelodeon Productions, it was co-created by Tom Lynch and Ken Lipman.
