Catweazle
Overview
Catweazle, a bumbling medieval wizard, finds himself inexplicably transported to the modern world, where his magical abilities fall hilariously short. Created by Richard Carpenter and brought to life by director Quentin Lawrence, this British series aired on ITV in 1970, followed by a second season in 1971 under the direction of David Reid and David Lane. Starring Geoffrey Bayldon in the titular role, the charming show captivated audiences not just in the UK but also in various countries, from New Zealand to Nicaragua. The inaugural episode can be viewed on the BFI Screenonline platform.
