Overview
Children today may live shorter lives than their parents, largely due to an obesity epidemic that remains unchecked globally, with New Zealand facing particularly high rates. Aiming to combat this crisis, a team of scientists proposes a radical solution: utilizing the gut microbiome from healthy individuals. They will conduct a six-month trial with four obese teenage girls, who will receive fecal matter from fit donors, without altering their diets.
