The film follows four quartets battling for the International Championship title in what becomes the closest, most controversial contest in 70 years. Max Q, the superstar favorites made of former champs, face challengers: the heartthrob OC Times, rookies Vocal Spectrum, and aging group Reveille, together for three decades. Fifty quartets compete for gold, dealing with everything from massive egos to brain cancer along the way.
