Pain and Glory (2019)
Salvador Mallo, an aging filmmaker, reflects on his life as he navigates the twilight of his career. Memories of his mother, past lovers, and collaborations with actors flood his mind, spanning from a small village in Valencia during the sixties to Madrid in the eighties and into his present struggles. Confronted by a profound sense of emptiness and the reality of his mortality, Salvador grapples with his inability to continue creating. Ultimately, the act of recounting his past becomes a potential path to redemption and understanding.
