Nomitori Samurai (2018)

Hironoshin, a samurai from the Echigo-Nagaoka clan, finds himself at a poetry gathering in Edo where his lord, Tadakiyo, is the guest of honor. When he brazenly accuses Tadakiyo of plagiarism, his lord retaliates by stripping him of his honor, forcing him into a life as a 'cat flea picker,' a euphemism for a male prostitute. Despite the humiliation, Hironoshin embraces this new path under the mentorship of a seasoned flea-picker who sees his potential for revenge, leading Hironoshin to navigate a world of deception and self-discovery.
