Prudence Budell, an opera singer, stumbles upon truck driver Johnny Donnetti showcasing his vocal talent and convinces her opera company to cast him in her upcoming production. As their romance blossoms, Prudence’s insecurities arise when she encounters Johnny's coworker, Mary.
