By 1964, a nuclear war has decimated the northern hemisphere, leaving a lone American submarine to seek refuge in Australia, where the facade of normalcy masks a deepening despair. Captain Towers struggles with the grief of losing his family in the catastrophe, while forming a poignant connection with the beautiful but troubled Moira Davidson, who develops feelings for him.
