Chariots of Fire (1981)
In the socially stratified and religiously divided Britain of the early 1920s, two passionate athletes prepare for the 1924 Paris Olympics. Eric Liddell, a devout Christian raised by Scottish missionaries in China, views running as an expression of his faith, choosing not to train or compete on Sundays. Meanwhile, Harold Abrahams battles against anti-Semitism and class discrimination, becoming so consumed by his ambition that he neglects his devoted girlfriend. Their contrasting journeys embody the struggle for personal and cultural identity in a time of adversity, culminating in a dramatic race that tests their faith and determination.
