Overview

George, a disillusioned scientist in Rotterdam, finds motivation to reconnect with his African heritage after the unexpected death of a close friend. He takes charge of a rundown research station in Equatorial Guinea, where he encounters a cheerful orphan boy who introduces him to the vibrant local culture. As the boy tries to spark a romance between George and the local orphanage director, life takes an unexpected turn when an old acquaintance resurfaces, complicating their newfound happiness. George soon learns that the path to redemption is fraught with challenges, especially when it feels like the road has come to an end.
