Overview

In 1931, a merchant ship docked in South America becomes the backdrop for tension when a young woman, played by Diane Cilento, embarks as a passenger. Her presence stirs unease among the superstitious crew. Virtuous sailor Anthony Steel steps in to defend her against the unwanted advances of the predatory captain, portrayed by Peter Finch.
