Overview

Kurt Anderson, a ruthless manager at a struggling New York department store, shows no remorse in firing long-time employees or manipulating the women around him. Among his targets is Madeline, a desperate young woman seeking work. After a night of passion, he hires her as a salesgirl, leaving Madeline feeling humiliated. Complicating matters, she develops genuine feelings for Martin West, an ambitious employee at the store.
