Swing High, Swing Low (1937)
Maggie King finds herself in Panama, where she encounters soldier Skid Johnson on his final day of service. Hesitant at first, she agrees to join him for a celebratory date, but things spiral out of control during a nightclub fight, causing her to miss her ship back home. Stranded, she moves in with Skid and his friend Harry, ultimately developing feelings for Skid. As he lands a gig playing trumpet at a local club, his rise to fame leads to arrogance, jeopardizing both their romance and his burgeoning career.
