Overview

Scott Daniels, an engineer in Millwood City, investigates a troubling pattern of mysterious fires that coincide with unsettling discoveries, such as dead rats in the sewers and structural cracks in buildings. His son, Jesse, resentful of their recent move, fakes an illness to spend time with his girlfriend, Carmen, who happens to be the daughter of Scott's high school ex. When Carmen finds Jesse unconscious from gas fumes, the situation escalates. Despite Scott’s warnings, Mayor Walker prioritizes his political image over safety. As Scott and his ally, Kenny Barrows, uncover a dangerous link to Talbot's oil firm, they face resistance from a corrupt fire chief.
