Adventurous soldier Rick O'Connell discovers the lost city of Hamunaptra during a skirmish in 1920s Egypt. Unbeknownst to him, he awakens Imhotep, a High Priest who faced a grim fate over three millennia ago due to a forbidden romance. Imhotep's reawakening brings with it a dire curse that threatens to unleash chaos upon the world if he is not stopped.
