Amid the backdrop of World War II in 1943 Scotland, young housewife Janie finds her routine disrupted when she and her older husband Dougal, who is fifteen years her senior, host three Italian POWs on their farm as part of a rehabilitation initiative. As the war rages on, tensions and emotions run high, leading Janie to unexpectedly develop feelings for one of the prisoners. The complications of love and loyalty intertwine, forcing Janie to navigate her heart amid the chaos of wartime life.
