Overview

In 16th-century Italy, a Spanish lord enlists the skills of Thomas Stanswood (Stuart Granger) to safeguard his reluctant fiancée (Sylva Koscina) from a band of insurgents. As Thomas fulfills his duty, he becomes increasingly entangled in the conflict, fostering an unexpected attraction to both the spirited fiancée and the rebels fighting for freedom.
