Overview

Gifted high schooler Evie grapples with the pressures of college admissions, but her priorities lie elsewhere. Overburdened with family responsibilities, she cares for her developmentally challenged sister, Emily, while her father, Harry, immerses himself in model trains and her mother, Martha, focuses on work. As Evie casually sabotages her interviews, she finds solace in her friendship with James, the boy next door, whose feelings complicate her already tangled emotions. To complicate matters further, she starts passing off her poetry as Emily's, igniting a false narrative around her sister's abilities.
