Overview

Tara Maguire (Robin Wright), a strikingly beautiful young woman, ignites controversy in her conservative 1950s Irish village after giving birth to an illegitimate child and keeping the father's identity a secret. Her allure captivates the local men, including the persistent Sergeant Hegarty (Albert Finney).
