Overview

In the mountain town of Gezhi, a band of Chinese refugees and wandering soldiers, guided by a resourceful machinist, band together to fend off an unexpected assault by Japanese reconnaissance troops. They engage in a fierce battle, relying on the cleverness and creativity of civilians to counter the might of an organized military force.
