Uncle Vanya (1970)

Retired professor Serebryakov arrives at his countryside estate with his stunningly young wife, Yeléna, which supports their city lifestyle. Vanya, the brother of the professor's late wife and the estate's manager, alongside the disillusioned local doctor, Astrov, find themselves enchanted by Yeléna while grappling with their monotonous provincial lives. Astrov, a dedicated yet jaded physician, often turns to alcohol, while Sofya, the professor's daughter, struggles with feelings of inadequacy and unreciprocated love for him. Tensions rise when Serebryakov reveals plans to sell the estate, threatening Vanya and Sofya's way of life.
