Klunkerz (2006)

Before mountain biking became a global sensation, cycling enthusiasts in Marin County, Northern California, were already racing modified pre-WWII bikes down the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. They put their creations through intense trials, often at great personal risk. Among them were serious Category-1 road racers seeking innovative training methods during the off-season, alongside carefree hippies eager to connect with nature in a new way. Their initial bikes were cobbled together from discarded materials found in dumpsters and junkyards. From these modest beginnings emerged a multi-billion dollar industry, a popular pastime, and even an Olympic sport, giving rise to the beloved Klunkerz.
