Gırgıriye'de Cümbüş

Overview

In the Gırgıriye neighborhood, Güllü lives with her mother Sabahat, uncle Bekir, father Emin, sister Sevim, aunt Rabiş, and her husband Bayram. Sabahat is completely obsessed with money. Everyone’s earnings go into a shared pot, and if anyone dares to take even three cents, she threatens to gouge out their eyes. But the moment the music starts, the fighting stops and everyone dances. The Gypsy women are fed up with their useless husbands: Bayram only chases women, Münir drinks himself senseless, and Bekir gambles everything away. Güllü has admirers too, especially the boss Deli Ömer, who is madly in love with her. One day, Sabahat loses it and kicks Münir, Bayram, Sevim, and Rabiş out of the house.
