August 32nd on Earth (1999)
Following a near-fatal car crash, photo model Simone feels an urgent need to infuse her life with purpose. She proposes to her best friend Philippe that he father her child, and he hesitantly consents, insisting they must conceive in a desert. Their journey takes them on a whirlwind 24-hour round-trip from Montréal to Salt Lake City in search of the perfect location. As they navigate this unconventional mission, both friends confront their emotions and the complexities of their relationship against the backdrop of the vast, arid landscape.
