Bambi
Overview
Born Jean-Pierre Pruvot in a tiny Algerian village in 1935, Bambi never conformed to her family’s expectations. Even as a child, she was determined to become the woman she always knew herself to be. In the 1950s, a performance by the Cabaret Carrousel de Paris in Algiers gave her the push she needed. She moved to Paris, adopted the stage name ‘Bambi,’ and finally lived her dream life on the music-hall stages.
