In "Like Stars on Earth," eight-year-old Ishaan Awasthi sees beauty in everything around him—colors, fish, dogs, and kites—yet the adults in his life dismiss these joys, focusing instead on academics and discipline. Struggling in school and unable to meet their expectations, Ishaan is sent to a boarding school.
